March is here and spring is on its way… I’m so happy about the season ahead because I adore all things pastel, fluffy bunnies, the scent of Mini Eggs, baking simnel cakes, squidgy hot cross buns, the flowering of daffodils and flutter of cherry blossom ~ each one makes my heart so happy… ♡
Last year I shared the first two editions of the Pink Pixie Diaries; a series where I discuss my pink favourites from the past month.
Today’s instalment consists of everything I’ve been loving lately, including…
The prettiest pearl jumper, dreamy Dior perfumes, beautiful books from Georgianna Lane, an adorable mug inspired by my favourite fairytale and a few more pretty pink treats…
Everything girly and princessy you can find wrapped up in this post!
With the world facing a period of momentous uncertainty, I thought it would be apt to continue creating my own little pink bubble where you can all escape to.
Life can be so cruel sometimes and it is very important to focus on the little daily delights that make us happy.
Whether that is treating yourself to something on your wish list, watching one of your favourite Disney films (I watched Tangled this afternoon with a cup of tea ~ it was so blissful) or practicing your hobby (I love to scrapbook and practice ballet), it is a lovely idea to make time for you.
I truly hope and wish today’s blog post can whisk you away to somewhere magical, where your heart may flutter and take flight…
If you feel worried, or just need someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to send me a bit of fairy post on my Instagram!
I also have a little Spotify playlist that can help you to relax your pretty little head…
Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some much-needed uplifting content on my blog and youtube channel which should hopefully inspire you! Please don’t hesitate to suggest ideas on what you’d like to see from me.
For now, sit back, relax with a warm drink and prepare to be whisked into a pink fairytale…
First we shall glimpse at the latest additions to my spring wardrobe…
I can’t resist anything with a peter pan collar and this beautiful jumper from River Island is perfection!
The broderie lace collar is adorned with dainty pearls which adds the sweetest touch…
Although the weather is brightening up, I think this piece will be perfect for the unpredictability of the English weather and those inevitable April showers…
Chicwish have the dreamiest array of unique pieces and I always feel inspired by one of my favourite bloggers, Lizzie In Lace, to purchase some of their elegant garments!
I decided to finally purchase the Amore Tulle Midi Skirt in baby pink, which has been on my wish list for quite a few years.
I envision myself wearing this fairytale skirt when I visit Paris in July. I’m forever inspired by Jadore Lexie Couture’s princessy style and I thought this skirt looked as though it had been plucked from her wardrobe.
It consists of layers of delicate tulle which resemble a ballerina’s tutu and I plan on creating a off-duty-ballerina look as I twirl underneath the Eiffel Tower.
My collection of mugs is quite extensive but I couldn’t resist purchasing the Sleeping Beauty latte mug from the Disney store.
I can’t wait to add a sprinkle of fairytale magic to each morning with this adorable mug. It features an intricate illustration of Aurora and Prince Philip in the awakening scene. The back of the mug of is also adorned with an elegant cursive script ~ “dreaming happily ever after…”
I have admired Georgianna Lane’s whimsical photography for quite a few years. I already have her beautiful book, New York In Bloom, which captures the floral gems hidden in this concrete jungle perfectly…
On the 17th of March, Georgianna released her new Bloom book entitled London In Bloom (which I pre-ordered, of course!) It arrived this week and I was delighted to unwrap it after a busy day at work.
The cover features a magical image of the infamous Peggy Porschen parlour dressed up in its spring attire ~ a cascade of floating flowers adorns each corner of this pastel-pink café and the pretty pink bicycle presented in front is adorable!
Inside the book, Georgianna treats us to an array of stunning photographs of this ever-blossoming city, whether you wish to gaze at the elegant swans in St. James’ park, or bask in the cherry trees at Ravenscourt Park, there are so many magnificent sights to behold!
Alongside London In Bloom, I also purchased a few more items from Georgianna’s website. The first piece I selected was the Paris In Bloom calendar for 2020, which features an array of charming photographs of the delicate blooms of Paris (the matching book is definitely on my wish list…)
Since watching Audrey Hepburn’s Gardens of the World documentary, I have felt inspired to grow my own flowers (we planted our peonies last week) and cultivate my own garden of dainty blooms…
Consequently, I decided to order Vintage Roses by Georgianna Lane and Jane Eastoe. The book focuses on both “old” and “modern” roses ~ Eastoe discusses sixty varieties and each one has their own unique tale. Her easy-to-follow gardening advice and notes on how the roses can be cared for, make the book less overwhelming if you’re a gardening novice!
With alluring names such as Ballerina, Lovely Fairy and Desdemona, who can resist their enchantment…?
Georgianna’s magnificent photography makes this a whimsical read which should not be missed!
The final little gift to myself is the Paris In Bloom notebook . The cover is adorned with an elegant photograph of soft-petaled ranunculus ~ one of my favourite spring flowers.
Georgianna effortlessly creates a fairytale depiction of Parisian blooms and I will use this darling notebook to jot down my itinerary for my trip to Paris.
As some of you know, I love ballet with all my heart and I decided to purchase a new bag for my weekly classes.
I chose the small Repetto duffle bag which is the perfect size for my Repetto ballet shoes. Every detail is thought of and I adore the dainty bows adorning each side!
My heart is instantly smitten with pastel homeware and I’ve been dreaming about purchasing a Roberts radio for years…
Unfortunately their signature pastel pink shade is no longer available in-store but I managed to find it on eBay! Although it is pre-loved, it remains in great condition which adds to the retro style…
The design reminds me of something you would see in a 1950s diner. It has all the features of the classic radio and will look adorable in my bedroom. I also think I shall use it to listen to classical music whilst I bake something sweet in the kitchen…
Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming is my signature scent but when I recently caught glimpse at the latest Miss Dior fragrance, Roses n’ Roses , I knew I had to make a purchase!
The ad campaign features Natalie Portman twirling around in the daintiest pink organza and floral appliqué gown…
Last week I went for brunch at Bill’s with my mother and tried their banana and blueberry porridge (which was delightful.) Afterwards, we decided to stroll over to the Dior counter in Harvey Nichols.
Upon approaching the Dior counter, I spotted their dreamy limited-edition gift-boxes for Mother’s Day and fell in love!
I adore the attention to detail which Dior dedicate to their packaging. It makes shopping with them so much more special!
The box features a whimsical sprinkling of gold dust that shimmers with pink accents and is finished with a glittering ribbon.
The perfume resembles a delicate spring bouquet; a sweet harmony grasse and damascus rose petals, alongside notes of Italian mandarin, bergamot and geranium.
The fragrances’ curator, François Demachy, has produced a scent with a bright vibrant florality, vivified by citrusy notes.
The sensation of an armful of fresh and colourful petals that sweeps you away to an endless field of blooming roses…
Charbonnel et Walker pink champagne truffles are my favourite and I felt so grateful to receive a box from my mother on Valentine’s Day.
They came wrapped with the softest pink satin ribbon which is my favourite detail…
The truffles are dusted with light pink sugar and consist of a dreamy milk chocolate filled with pink champagne & wild strawberries…
Yorkshire Soap Co is the most beautiful brand and I don’t hear it spoken about enough.
Everything is beautifully packaged in bakery-esque treat boxes and my father surprised me with this adorable box for Valentine’s Day. Inside I discovered a set of macaron soaps and a jar of bath bon-bons!
Cute candles are my weakness and I recently treated myself to Sophie Allport’s English Rose candle. I decided to order the 75g votive version which comes in the prettiest pink drawstring bag. The candle has a light, rose scent and is presented in a dainty small glass which looks so elegant on my vanity table.
Whenever I watch a classic 1950s film, I’m always in awe of the leading actress’ vanity table which is arranged with luxurious lotions, pretty perfumes and of course… a dainty dusting powder!
I have dreamed of owning one for quite some time but they are quite difficult to find!
After a little bit of browsing on eBay I managed to find the M&S Florentyna Dusting Powder.
The elegant flower adorning the lid reminds me of a classic powder from the 50s. The powder puff is a snowy white shade and embellished with a soft satin bow.
The powder inside has a heavenly parma violets scent. I love to use it after my evening bubble bath before I change into my pink vintage nightdress…
Last month I felt quite lucky when I managed to win the most beautiful bracelet in Jennifer Hayslip’s giveaway!
I won her Paris Candy Charm bracelet which epitomises all of my Parisian daydreams…
Adorning the bracelet are an assortment of cute charms; the poodle, macarons and pink eiffel tower are my favourites! Jennifer has so many stunning handmade pieces on her Etsy shop if you would like to treat yourself to something…
Beauty Item: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Diamonds has been my “go-to” for the month of February. Aside from its dreamy packaging it is infused with the loveliest scent of vanilla cupcakes and rests on the lips like a dream with a gold shimmer…
In My Wardrobe: I have been dreaming of owning this pink faux fur collar coat from Miss Selfridge for quite a few years. I first saw it on Freddy My Love and instantly added it to my wish list! I was lucky enough to find it pre-loved on Depop and I think it is beautiful. The baby pink shade adds a feminine touch and I love that it is classically tailored with an elegant fit and flare silhouette.
Darling Decor: I have already began prepping my bedroom for Easter next month (I may have already made an Easter lemon pavlova… don’t judge me!) and when I went to Home Sense last month I spotted some adorable pieces which I couldn’t leave behind…
Last Purchase: Ted Baker’s KALLA Elegant full skirt dress, Disney x Skinny Dip Marie Jumper and Iphone Case.
Song: I can’t stop listening to Fred Mollin’s Disney Princess Lullaby album. Whether I’m tidying my room, ironing, baking or relaxing in the bath, I always seem to have it playing.
Film: I went to see Autumn de Wilde’s adaptation of the Jane Austen classic, Emma, at the cinema for Valentine’s Day and it was a true delight. For anyone who doesn’t know, Emma Woodhouse is my favourite Austen heroine and it is my favourite Austen book! I was completely mesmerised by the costumes, pastel interiors, the array of sweet cakes and delicacies, the beauty of the dialogue and besotted with Johnny Flynn as Mr Knightley…
TV: Anne with an E is one of the sweetest teen period dramas on Netflix. I adore Anne and her kindred spirits ~ the costumes are also magnificent ~ if you adore bows, frills and cute capes, you will fall in love with this show! Love Shack Fancy meets a Jane Austen novel is the perfect way to describe the wardrobe of this heart-warming show…
Book: my head has been burrowed inside Little Women over the past few weeks ~ I am constantly enthralled by the lives of the March sisters and I thought I would share this lovely passage with you…
“I shan’t let anyone see you till you are done, and then we’ll burst upon them like Cinderella and her godmother going to the ball…”
“They laced her into a sky-blue dress… a set of silver filagree was added, bracelets, necklace, brooch… a cluster of ten rose-buds…and a pair of high-heeled silk boots satisfied the last wish of her heart. A lace handkerchief, a plumy fan, and a bouquet in a silver holder finished her off, and Miss Belle surveyed her with the satisfaction of a little girl with a newly dressed doll.”
Launches I’m Loving:
The Guerlain Cherry Blossom collection was released last month and I am heart-eyed over everything! It is inspired by the delicate blooms found in Japan each spring and features their signature météorites pearls in a limited-edition shade called “Happy Glow”, their Rouge G lipstick in a unique case called “fancy blossom” which is adorned with a cherry tree design and finally, the Aqua Allegoria Flora Cherrysia perfume which has delicate notes of nashi pear, cherry flower and white musk.
The second launch I fell in love with was the Jo Malone Sakura Cologne which is their exclusive fragrance for spring. It has the prettiest pale pink packaging…
Fashion Week Moment: Giambattista Valli did not disappoint with his Fall 2020 RTW collection. The main piece which stood out to me was the epauletted cape in rose macaron pink adorned with pearls and silver beads. Sweet black bows can be found adorning the models heads and the delicate icy-blue tulle dress stole my heart…
Moment: as many of you know, I love to bake and recently one of my work colleagues requested if I could make some fondant bow cupcakes for her daughters birthday. This was my very first cupcake commission and I was so overjoyed!
Recipe: aside from the cute fondant bow cupcakes, I also baked the cutest set of pink iced gems inspired by Manuela’s recipe from the book Love, Manuela. I love how simple this recipe is and they’re the perfect little treat for an afternoon snack.
Sweet Treat: Muller Strawberry Shortcake yoghurts and Custard Creams have been my favourite!
Blog Post: Lisbeths little online bakery is filled with so many delectable delights and I feel inspired to make this bunny buttercream torte for Easter! I also loved my angel Catherine’s blog post on Peggy Porschen ~ I also visited the Belgravia parlour when it was adorned with its Valentine’s Day decor…
Heart-eyed over: The Needle and Thread Wallflower Dress
Dreaming about: my trip to Paris in July ~ everything is all booked and I have been spending my free time writing an agenda for the holiday.
Looking forward to: Peggy Porschen’s afternoon tea at the Lanesborough for my birthday in April and watching Frozen: The Musical in October.
I would love to hear what you’ve been heart-eyed over this month!
I’m sending lots of love to you all,
