“Twas’ the night before Christmas and under the glistening tree, dressed in her elegant nightdress, she wrapped her final gift. The fire glowed in the distance and she felt the warmth sweep over her soul. She nestled underneath a bundle of fluffy blankets and a warm drink with magic in her heart…”
Christmas Eve has always been my favourite and part of me enjoys it even more than Christmas Day…
As a child I have fond memories of hanging up my stocking, baking gingerbread men with my mother, having a hot chocolate with the fluffiest marshmallows, writing Santa’s letter and leaving some carrots and stardust for the reindeers… it gives me the warmest, brightest feelings just thinking about it.
Wrapping gifts is one of my favourite Christmas activities and this year I found the loveliest set of supplies from Matalan’s swan range…
I was completely smitten with the designs when I first spotted them in September and I knew I had to purchase everything from the collection.
Each item is adorned with a whimsical illustration of a snowy swan placed on a soft pink background…
I adore the gold detailing and the whimsical qualities of the design reminds me of Swan Lake.
I couldn’t resist purchasing the wrapping paper, gift tags, a gift box, and the cards…
Once I have wrapped each gift, I love to add a soft satin bow. This year I’m using a roll of white satin ribbon which I picked up from Hobbycraft. I tied mine in a little bow and added a pearl in the centre for a magical touch.
Writing cards to love ones is always a joy and I managed to send out all my cards on time. The first set of cards is from Home Sense: they have a sweet white dove design adorning the top of a Christmas tree and a whimsical, golden cursive script.
The second set of cards matches my wrapping paper! They illustrate an elegant swan in the centre of a golden bauble; this is such a wondrous, spell-binding scene that any receiver of this card is sure to have their spirits lifted.
Gift boxes are a great idea for storing your wrapping supplies or using as a way to present gifts to loved ones without wrapping them!
I purchased this stunning pale pink box embossed with Merry and Bright from Homesense.
The second box is from Matalan ~ I adore the dainty swan illustration…
My Christmas Eve plans are to bake some mince pies, light my White Spiced Cocoa candle, snuggle up under my pink fluffy pom pom throw with a vanilla latte and watch It’s A Wonderful Life.
I would love to hear about your Christmas Eve plans in the comments section below. I’m wishing you a whimsical holiday season and sending you love for the New Year.
