Seasons greetings my darlings! I hope you are all well and enjoying a splendrous Christmas season. I love to get as cosy as possible at this time of year, especially since we are spending the holiday season at home. There are so many ways you can relax at home so I have created a little guide on how I like to prepare for the special day… ♡
The first place to start is decorating your bedroom for the holiday season! This is my favourite part ~ I usually start by assembling my miniature white christmas tree which I adorn with all my favourite ornaments.
My favourite ballet at this time of year is the Nutcracker and I had originally booked tickets to see the Royal Ballet’s performance at the Opera House in January but unfortunately all performances have been cancelled! Nevertheless, yesterday I watched BRB’s and it was so magical. I thought it would be fitting to share with you this whimsical Nutcracker snow globe which features Clara and the mouse king.
A cosy Christmas would not be complete without a sweet drink and marshmallow hot chocolates are my favourite! I recently treated myself to this dreamy Nutcracker cavalier mug.
Something which can brighten your day is an advent calendar. I used to love opening them as a child but it is something I have not allowed myself to do for quite a few years…
This year I treated myself to the Ladurée advent calendar which is filled with somany wondrous treats ~ I adore the snowy wintry scene on the cover which is tied with a silky satin bow! So far I have unboxed the loveliest treats and I particularly love the rose flavoured chocolates.
My talented friend Catherine made the most beautiful cookie advent calendar and I couldn’t resist purchasing! Each day has an adorable cookie adorned with the cutest design. I’m so proud and inspired by her business and I’m hoping she can have her very own bakery soon.
As you may have seen in my Christmas gift-guide post, I recently treated myself to a new dress from my favourite clothing brand, Needle and Thread. Each year they release the most darling collections and I had been dreaming about the Amber petal dress as soon as I saw it on their website and couldn’t resist treating myself.
“This vintage Victorian-inspired piece has been developed into a playfully romantic silhouette with a contemporary edge. Featuring a sheer panelled high neck in delicate kisses tulle and all over contrasting floral embroidery creating a graphic look. This gown has a pretty, multi-layered tulle skirt beautifully shaped into scalloped panels, and elasticated smocking around the waistline for ease of wear. Make an entrance in the Amber Petal Gown...”
Each year I re-purchase my favourite Yankee Candle in the scent, Snowflake Cookie, it’s utterly dreamy and I adore it with all my heart. It fills my room with the scent of a wintry bakery.
It wouldn’t be a cosy Christmas without baking my favourite sugar cookies! I bake these each holiday season and I love to decorate them with my favourite pink royal icing! I always follow the Peggy Porschen recipe as it is my favourite. I even baked a set of gingerbread biscuits too! I think they would go perfectly with a marshmallow hot chocolate.
For a finishing touch, why not wrap your gifts with elegant wrapping paper? I adore this dreamy swan design! Oh and don’t forget a soft satin ribbon!
I truly hope you enjoyed this post my darlings and have the most magical Christmas. 2020 has been such a challenging year for us all so lets hope 2021 will offer a new beginning… ♡
I’m sending lots of love to you all,
