Happy Valentine’s Day soft rose petals ~ the most romantic occasion of the year has finally arrived…
Everything cute and heart-shaped is in abundance, love-letters are stamped with elegant wax seals, soft satin ribbons and bows are tied to everything…
It is also the perfect celebration to treat yourself… whether you purchase something from your wish list, bake something sweet or pick up a bouquet of your favourite flowers, it is important to make time for you!
My little step-by-step guide will help you have the loveliest Valentine’s yet!
Say I ♡ you With Something Sweet…
If you want to tell your special someone just how much they mean to you, it is always a wonderful idea to bake something sweet! I have three of the dreamiest recipes to share with you… ♡
Rose and Vanilla Bow Cupcakes ♡
I thought this darling set of fondant bow cupcakes would be the perfect treat to give to your loved ones this Valentine’s Day.
Each one consists of a delicate sponge infused with rosewater, a swirl of vanilla bean buttercream and to finish, a dainty fondant bow!
You can find all the recipe details here and I followed this tutorial for the little bows.
Marshmallow Love-Heart Rice Krispie Treats ♡
If you don’t have a lot of time or you wish to make something simple, Rice Krispie treats are perfect!
I was inspired by my sweet friend Catherine to make this adorable set of marshmallow heart-shaped Rice Krispie treats… They’re so simple but delicious.
You can also add a pretty touch by wrapping up each love-heart in a treat bag and tying them with a soft satin ribbon! They would make the perfect gift-idea for a Galentines evening in.
Creamy Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting ♡
If you’re looking for something extra indulgent, you can’t go wrong with chocolate cake! As Audrey said “Let’s face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.”
I followed Manuela’s recipe for this bake in her book Love, Manuela and it was a complete success!
The cake consists of a double layer chocolate sponge which is covered in a decadent mascarpone whipped frosting…
“A Rose by any other name would smell as sweet” ♡
Fresh flowers make my heart take flight and I love to treat myself to a bouquet of soft pink roses each Valentine’s Day.
The assortment I selected this year are the Belle variety from M&S…
I love their delicate pink petals and the name is the cutest ~ reminding me of one of my favourite Disney princesses…
A Rose, Is A Rose, Is A Rose… ♡
It is also a lovely idea to re-purchase your favourite perfume or discover a new fragrance which makes your heart bloom!
I adore Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming and on my trip to London I took the opportunity to purchase a new bottle of my signature scent from their Covent Garden boutique.
The fragrance is a floral delight with notes of red berries, grasse rose, peony accord damascus rose and white musk…
Romantic Reads ♡
Reading a piece of classic literature would be a blissful way to spend the evening and I have decided to share with you this stunning edition of Little Women. It is a pink leather-bound edition with exquisite details; I particularly love the gold foiled edges and ribbon. Whilst this is a tale of young love, it is also about sisterhood and self-discovery which I think is an important message for Valentine’s Day. You need to find strength and love in yourself before anyone else ~ Jo March learns this as she comes to terms with her identity as a woman and realises that all she needed was inside of her.
Delicate Delights ♡
After reading a classic tale and relaxing in a rose-petal bubble bath, I shall curl up under a pink fluffy pom-pom throw and watch To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S I Still Love You.
My pamper routine wouldn’t be complete without a selection of elegant treats which I shall have with some of the Bailey’s Strawberries and Cream Liquer.
It can also be a wonderful idea to fill your boudoir with a heavenly, soothing scent…
Last week I received the loveliest package from therosebearco which contained their darling wax melts in the scents ~ la vie est belle and my one true love which smell divine.
Macarons are the most elegant indulgence and it would be a wonderful idea to you and your girlfriends to a dainty box from Ladurée…
or as a fun activity, you could try making your own?
Playing Dress-Up ♡
It’s so much fun to dress up in your prettiest pieces and in my latest video I share how to fulfil your fairytale dreams and release your inner princess. I often daydream about transforming into Princess Aurora, living in a grand castle in a whimsical woodland.
My step-by-step guide will teach you how to sprinkle a little bit of pixie dust into your daily routine and hopefully inspire you to have faith in your dreams. However, being a princess is not only about sparkly tiaras, beautiful ball gowns and handsome princes, it also requires acts of self-love, compassion and strength ♡
You must remember to believe in yourself and your dreams despite what others may think. Speak words of goodness, spread kindness to those around you, have courage and remember, “no matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true…”
I hope this post has inspired you in some way angels! I’d love to know in the comments what your favourite romantic film is and what your plans are for Valentine’s Day?
I’m sending lots of love to you all,

Those roses that you got for yourself are lovely! The treats you made look adorable too! I love the cupcakes with the bows. 🧁🎀 All sweet treats sound amazing. 🍰
You are right about the importance of self-love and believing in yourself and your dreams. For the longest time, I doubted myself because of the things that other people would say to me. But I decided to believe in myself, despite what other people may think. I’m also all about spreading love and kindness. 💖💝✨
As for my favorite romantic film, I can’t think of one off the top of my head, but I do love the book The Notebook. I have yet to see the movie, though. I didn’t do too much for Valentine’s Day, but I did decide to create a list of 14 things I love about myself for my blog, I did a Valentine’s Day yoga practice, and I had a couple of extra sweets today. 💝

Dearest Katherine, I adore roses with all my heart! They truly brighten up my day 💭🌹🕊 Thank you ever so much for your kind words about my sweet treats 🎀🍥I had the most fun creating them. I’m so happy to hear about your journey with self-love, it’s still an on-going process for me but I think it’s best to take it day-by-day and try our best to incorporate little moments of compassion and kindness 🌸 your Valentine’s routine sounded delightful! I have read The Notebook and watched the film and I strongly urge you to watch it ~ you may need a few tissues though because it’s very emotional 🙊💕📖
