My first piece of advice is to bake your own array of sweet treats – this can be presented as a lovely gift to someone you care for and it also fills your home with the sweetest scent. I couldn’t resist sharing my favourite Easter-themed delights, mini egg cupcakes! You can re-create these delicious bakes quite easily and finish them off with a delicate swirl of vanilla frosting and mini eggs.
As many of you probably know, literature is my favourite way to escape into another world and I would most definitely recommend any Jane Austen novel. Emma is my favourite but I also adore Pride & Prejudice and Sense & Sensibility
After reading one of your favourite literary classics, I think it can be a wondrous idea to write a letter to a loved one. I have a blog post dedicated to how I write and seal my own letters with wax stamps if you would wish to read it.
To uplift your soul and spirits, I recommend dancing ballet! Each movement allows me to feel elegant but also strong. I recently purchased my first tutu from Repetto which I can’t wait to wear! I’m hopefully going to be fitted for my pointe shoes this week and I plan to take some photos in them both. I truly believe that practising ballet can allow you to uplift your spirits and feel elegant. Alongside practising ballet at home, it can also be lovely to watch some of your favourite performances! I have created a little list for you to save!
One of the most simple ways to feel feminine at home is to treat yourself to a manicure! I personally love to keep my nails simple with a glossy pale pink! I recently purchased the Dior Ruban polish which is so elegant and demure.
Making your wardrobe suited to your style is so important and if you’re trying to create a collection of clothing which embodies a feminine style, I will share with you a few of my top tips to achieve this!
♡ Find your style inspiration(s)
I often find it easier to create looks and know what pieces I would like to purchase through sourcing different individuals I admire for style inspiration. You can gather this inspiration through Pinterest, creating a board of ideas through your favourite icons! I personally look to Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly & the Duchess of Cambridge for my style inspiration but I also admire so many bloggers style
♡ Create a moodboard
Begin by creating a mood board of images which inspire you – this could be looks from your favourite couture shows, pieces which you have longed to add to your wardrobe, iconic outfits from classic films and ensembles which embody your dream style! You could make this in a scrapbook or digitally but this can be a wonderful reminder to keep looking to for inspiration. Once you have discovered which silhouettes and colours you are drawn to – its time to gather inspiration! You can find this from so many sources and I particularly love to look at magazine editorials, my favourite fashion shows from Chanel & Dior, classic movies, ballet performances, and pieces worn by my style inspirations – Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Kate Middleton. Inspiration can be found in the smallest to the largest details and finding some style inspirations which you can look to when you’re not sure what to wear! This does not mean you need to completely imitate their style but you may find a particular fabric which looks wonderful on Audrey which you’d like to emulate or a colour on a dress worn by Grace Kelly – there are so many ways you can embody their style in your own looks!
♡ Switch to dresses and skirts
Another way to embody feminine style is to ditch the jeans/trousers and wear dresses and skirts! I personally believe this is an effortless way to truly embody the feminine silhouette which was established by Dior’s New Look – placing emphasis upon the waist and the flower-like essence of the female body which Dior described as “flower women”
I think that even if you are wearing a beautiful garment, if your pieces are not cared for – this can completely undermine the elegance of your ensemble. Paying attention to each detail of your appearance is crucial to achieving an elegant, feminine look.
It can also be a lovely idea to indulge in or treat yourself to something sweet! This could be a box of your favourite chocolates or a selection of hand-crafted sugar cookies from Catherine Marie.
To add a feminine scent to your home you can light a dreamy candle ~ I received the beautiful Marie Antoinette candle for Christmas. It has an elegant blend of rosebuds, honey and citrus fruits and revitalises any interior space.
Pampering your skin with delicate products can be a wonderful act of self-care and my new favourite face cream is the Fresh Deep Hydration Cream which as the dreamiest blend of rose water, rose flower oil, angelica leaf extract.
It can also be a wonderful idea to have a relaxing bath and use some of your favourite products! I personally adore the Philosophy Amazing Grace range and I have been using their shampoo, bath and shower gel frequently and I just adore it. It has the perfect combination of Bergamot, Muguet Blossoms and lingering Musk.
Another activity which always allows me to feel feminine at home is to have a tea-party with my favourite Royal Albert tea-set and sweet treats. I personally adore Ladurée macarons which you could treat yourself to whilst watching a film you adore! I always feel inspired by Marie Antoinette (2006)
I really hope you enjoyed this post my darlings and make sure to stay tuned for our next Princess Tea-Party Podcast which is all about cultivating femininity in your style and every day life.
As always, I’m sending so much love to you all and I hope you can have the courage to pursue your own dreams.
