“I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty, or smart, or young. They’re still princesses.” ♔
Once upon a time there was a daydreamer called Sophie who longed to be whisked away to a magical land where fairies reside, roses are forever in bloom and the magic lasts longer than midnight… she held this fairytale close to her heart ~ waiting for those glass slippers, a handsome prince and a grand castle in a whimsical woodland…
I hope I’m not the only one who wishes for this daydream to transform into a reality…
I wish for my sweet sisters in my pretty pink corner of the blogging world to be transported to a place where they can experience all things whimsical and in my recent video, I share with you my favourite ways to add a soft touch of magic into your daily routine…
This can be achieved in small ways like indulging in a delicate delight, treating yourself to a bouquet of fresh flowers or twirling around in one of your most treasured gowns to release your inner Princess Grace…
However, being a princess is not only about sparkly tiaras, beautiful ball gowns and handsome princes, it also requires acts of self-love, compassion and strength ♡
You must remember to believe in yourself and your dreams despite what others may think. Speak words of goodness, spread kindness to those around you, have courage and remember, “no matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true…”
Whether you wish to channel your inner Aurora by wandering amongst woodland creatures at a nearby rose cottage in the glen or waltz in the moonlight in your glass slippers with a handsome prince like Cinderella, I hope this post provides you with some inspiration to fulfil your fairytale dreams…
I love waking up early in the morning; of course a princess needs her beauty sleep but it is magical to hear the birds chirping as it reminds me of the opening scene of Disney’s Cinderella. I wake up in my pink nightdress with bow and lace detailing and begin the day with a warming bowl of slow-cooked oats topped with fresh fruit…
At my bedside I love to keep items which inspire me and a princess always has treasures nearby… How sweet is this ballerina snow globe? It twirls to the dreamiest reverie of music as sparkling snow whirls around.
I also love this pretty pink hat box tied with a soft satin bow! Inside I store my berets and ballet slippers…
Taking care of your hair is such an important step ~ gently comb through your beautiful golden locks, spritz them with an elegant mist and finish with a soft satin ribbon…
One of my favourite delights is get lost in fairytale worlds and allow my imagination to take flight ~ a princess must cultivate her mind and be well-read… whether you prefer to explore the worlds of Austen and discover the minds of Emma Woodhouse and Elizabeth Bennet, or you wish to go to tea with Sarah Crewe or Alice, there is a world of delights waiting for you…
A princess will allow herself to indulge in something sweet and my favourite dainty delicacies are macarons…
Ladurée macarons are the epitome of elegance and treating yourself to a box of their rose and vanilla macarons is sure to make you feel like a modern-day Marie Antoinette.
“Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat?
Wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete?
Wouldn’t you think I’m the girl
The girl who has everything?”
A princess will make her surroundings reflect her true passions and pleasures…
To make your very own space that allows you to feel your most regal can be achieved by collecting unique pieces that inspire and enliven your fairytale dreams…
Aurora is my favourite princess so I love to discover dainty objects that remind me of her, such as this dainty rose gold mirror from Disney’s 60th anniversary collection…
I also have this dreamy translucent powder from the Besame Cosmetics Sleeping Beauty collection. The collection is inspired by the 1959 Disney film and there were far too many pretty products to choose from! The dainty illustration adorning the front of the compact immediately drew me in; the design is taken from the Sleeping Beauty Little Golden Books cover which I already own. It depicts Aurora perched in the centre surrounded by the three good fairies and beautifully blooming flowers. The powder is inspired by one of the gifts she received from the three good fairies, the gift of beauty. The lightweight texture is designed to set your makeup flawlessly for a magical day.
Princesses always make time for a pamper session and I love to begin mine with a bubble bath… you can begin by filling the water with a sweet symphony of scents ~ rose bath salts and Ted Baker’s Floral Bliss collection are some of my favourite treats which leave me feeling as fresh as a pink peony! Whilst in the bath I love to watch a classic film (Roman Holiday is my favourite for bubble baths), or I read a book about one of my inspirations, Audrey Hepburn.
After your soak in the bathtub it’s important to treat your skin to a luxurious lotion. When I want to feel a little bit more luxurious, I always opt for Dior.
The Miss Dior Fresh Body Creme is one of my favourites; it melts delicately into the skin to provide comfort and softness. Its fresh and creamy texture enriched with rose oil moisturizes and nourishes the skin without leaving a greasy film.
I also adore the Hydra Life Pores Away Pink Clay Mask; this creamy clay transforms into a fine foam when rinsed to gently eliminate impurities. In 3 minutes, the skin is matte and velvety; pores and imperfections are reduced…
To follow this heavenly pamper session you can complete the look with a spritz of your signature scent – I adore Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming and on my trip to London I took the opportunity to purchase a new bottle from their Covent Garden boutique. The fragrance is a floral delight with notes of red berries, grasse rose, peony accord damascus rose and white musk…
Ballet is one of my favourite hobbies and I look forward to my classes each week. However, there is no reason why you can’t practice at home too. Whether you wish to do one of the Ballet Beautiful workouts or follow Kathryn Morgan’s ballet barre classes, I love to practice and do a video each day to improve my technique. If you’re not much of a dancer but admire the ballet style, you can incorporate this into your everyday look with a pair of ballet flats from Repetto…
To be a princess is to always look presentable and dresses are my favourite way to achieve this…
It would be a dream come true to wear a custom ballgown from Christian Dior like Princess Grace but realistically, there is a way for each of us to present ourselves in an affordably elegant way each day!
In my new video I shared a bridal look which featured the dreamiest white Taffeta dress from That Is So Vintage which was kindly gifted* to me. I adore this online boutique because it features so many Princess-inspired pieces which would make any girls heart sing.
I was initially drawn to this dress because it reminded me of Cinderella’s pink dress which was originally her mother’s. The little mice help to re-design it with a dainty bow and corsage detail which adds a classic feminine touch.
The gown I selected appears as though it has been plucked from a fairytale book!
The second gown featured was this stunning flower appliqué dress from Chi Chi Clothing.
Their designs are so elegant and the Marinela dress has delicate, flowers adorning the bodice and a floaty tulle skirt.
However, if you’re looking for something more simple, I love to go to Ted Baker as their designs are classic and beautifully feminine.
This adorable pink bow dress is one of my favourites because it reminds me of the pink bow-front Givenchy dress worn by Audrey in Breakfast At Tiffany’s. I also love this adorable baby pink dress and floral dress from Ted’s current collection…
A princess should always be surrounded by fresh flowers and it is also a lovely to cultivate your own unique garden of blooms…
One of my favourite bouquets is the Belle variety ~ I love their delicate pink petals and the name is the cutest ~ reminding me of one of my favourite Disney princesses…
It is also a lovely idea to plant flowers in your garden; for spring I have decided to grow peonies so I have started to dot some bulbs around our garden in time for the season…
“For to have complete satisfaction from flowers you must have time to spend with them.” ~ Grace Kelly
“A crown to wear in grace and beauty, as is thy right and royal duty…”
A princess would not be complete with her tiara and I purchased this dainty one from JJ’s house ~ wearing it makes me feel like Princess Ann in Roman Holiday.
I truly hope I have inspired and enlivened your inner-princess in this post! Remember that being a princess comes within ~ you must be kind to yourself and those around you. Don’t doubt your dreams ~ if people say they’re idealistic and out-of-reach, prove them wrong! You must be the one to write your own fairytale and as Snow says, “There’s no use in grumbling, when the raindrops come tumbling, remember, you’re the one
who can fill the world with sunshine…”
I’m sending lots of love to you all,
Katherine Isabella Moon says
