“So hold on tight to those you love
And maybe soon from up above
You’ll be blessed so keep on looking high
While you’re underneath the lovely London sky
Lovely London sky…”
There’s something ever so dreamy about London in the glorious summertime.
At the end of August, my father and I took a trip to London and I thought it would be lovely to share the beautiful spots we visited.
Most of our time was spent in the borough of Chelsea; this is one of my favourite spots and I’m forever in awe of the rows of pristine, white apartments, lined up neatly with box flowers placed in the centre of each window.
Pouring out of each corner you will stumble across unique boutiques and florists housing the blooms of the season.
I was clothed for the occasion in my pink Ted Baker bow dress which makes me feel like a Parisian princess..
Chelsea in bloom is a gift for the eye to behold; whether you see a miniature dachshund plodding around on its daily walk or delicately handcrafted cupcakes lining the window of a local bakery, nothing can compare to the hubbub of Chelsea.
Our first destination was Bywater Street where the pastel houses of my dreams reside!
They merge together as a pretty rainbow with pretty pinks, baby blues and lemon sherbet yellows.
Of course, the baby pink house was my favourite!
We then made our way down the King’s Road – a street made infamous in the 1960s for mod-culture and Vivienne Westwood’s flagship store.
As many of you may know, I adore the Peggy Porschen Belgravia parlour.
Nestled in the most regal location, it is at the top of my list of places to go in London; I have two blog posts from my visits during Spring and Winter.
When Peggy’s opened their flagship parlour on the King’s Road last year, I knew I had to visit and its even more dreamy in person. Nestled on the corner, you can instantly spot the candy floss pink parlour as it stands out from the plethora of red brick buildings.
Be prepared for enchantment as a glorious bouquet greets you at the entrance and a pastel pink bicycle fitted with a basket of blooms glistens nearby.
Stepping into the parlour, you are transported into an enchanting dreamland of decadent decor and opulent interiors.
I was instantly drawn to the dreamy glass cabinets filled with an array of scrumptious treats…
The gleam of the pendent lights, the white shelving units and cabinets remind me of a 1950s diner.
Glorious Victoria sponge cakes, red velvet cupcakes & sweet summer berry tarts were in abundance.
The interiors have an elegant and sophisticated flair; the teal chairs and plush pink sofas are utterly dreamy and the walls are adorned with beautiful artwork from Kerrie Hess.
Kerrie’s designs are my favourite and it was lovely to see her watercolour pink peony showcased as a dreamy wall art backdrop. Every corner of the parlour is dotted with the most regal florals which adds vibrancy to the café’s atmosphere.
Once settled in our seats, it was time for something sweet! The Summer Berries and Fleurs menu features an array of lovely cakes and bakes; I settled upon their Eton Mess cupcake with a pot of the Chelsea Rose Petal tea.
The cupcake consists of a vanilla sponge filled with strawberry jam, a swirl of vanilla buttercream, strawberry sauce and finished with a fresh strawberry, meringue kiss and petal confetti.
Peggy’s have also created their very first Brunch menu and my father tried the eggs benedict which arrived on the prettiest pastel pink plate.
The flagship parlour is picture perfect and I hope to return very soon as it appears like something plucked from my dreams. It would be magical to visit again when their Christmas collection has been released. Please let me know in the comments if you have visited one of the parlours and your thoughts on them.
A trip to London would be incomplete without visiting Harrods…
Originally, we planned to visit their Ladurée restaurant but unfortunately they’ve closed it! I’m going to miss the Parisian decor and opulent interiors so much. Nevertheless, we came across a miniature stand where I picked up a box of my favourite vanilla and rose macarons. I selected the larger pale pink Napoleon box as I already have the small one in my collection.
When I spotted the Ladurée charms, I couldn’t leave without one!
I already have their lemon macaron key chain but I have been longing to purchase the keychain in their rose bud box…
It is utterly adorable and reminds me of Marie Antoinette ~ trés chic!
I hope you are all well my darlings. I am returning to university over the next few weeks so I may struggle with posting as regularly but I shall try my best.
I’m sending lots of love to you all,
